The circular building from the 1960s was renovated and redesigned in 2010 to enable its new dual function as a church and a burial ground for urn graves. The largely windowless space is illuminated by a skylight above the altar. The old church interior was divided into new areas: the central ceremonial space with altar and pews, the surrounding mourning room with urn walls, and the entrance area with baptismal font and side altar with Pietà.

This resulted in new lighting requirements. The central daylight incidence through the dome was supplemented and reinforced by a high-voltage halogen spotlight. The circular walkway received uniform basic illumination from high-voltage halogen spotlights on the ceiling. The circular shape of the ceremonial space was emphasized by annular pendant luminaires with two light levels – downlight and uplight. An additional spotlight was directed onto the Pietà as accent lighting.

Furthermore, we developed invisible locking solutions for the brass gravestones in-house.
