If the existing luminaires in a historical or sacred building are outdated, it is not absolutely necessary to replace them. In most cases, it is possible to retain the luminaire body and a large part of the components. This is where energy-efficient refurbishment comes into play. We strive to intervene as inconspicuously as possible, using LED technology to simultaneously maintain or increase the light output of the luminaires while reducing energy consumption.
Thanks to the new technology, we also have the option to improve light quality and incorporate dim-to-warm or tunable-white LEDs. This requires adapting the lighting control to perfectly match the premises and occasions, be it with Human-Centric Lighting (HCL) or colored accent lighting for events. The current LEDs have a high color rendering index (CRI), which makes them ideal for historic rooms and buildings with high-quality furnishings.
